Bright Start


Our oldest and largest outreach program, Bright Start provides new clothing, hygiene kits, and shoes for students experiencing “hard times.”  Learn more about Bright Start by clicking here.




Graduation Awards

Needs come in all colors and shapes.  For high school seniors who have made it to graduation, which is quite an accomplishment for many reasons, the financial cost is too much for them or their families to cover.  We provide awards to qualified graduating high school students to help with senior year expenses.




Everett Community College Scholarships

Through the Everett Community College Foundation we offer 10 scholarships for those who see education as their way to a better life, for themselves and their families.






Transitional Support
The Transitional Support Program provides vouchers to be used in our Thrift Shop for clothing and household items for families and individuals in need in our community. The vouchers are distributed to families and individuals by one of the following agencies that we have agreements with:

  • Cocoon House

  • Homage Senior Services

  • Housing Hope

  • The Red Cross

  • Salvation Army

  • YWCA

  • Heroes Cafe – Lynnwood

  • Snohomish County Domestic Violence Services

  • Bridgeways

  • InterFaith Family Shelters




Starting Over Supplies (SOS)

Working with Housing Hope and Cocoon House we assist individuals and families who are in a period of housing transition to a better life by providing bedding, dishes, pots and pans and other essentials as part of that next step in starting over.











Cocoon House Pop-Up Thrift Store

The U-Turn Drop-In Center at Cocoon House provides basic needs for homeless youth for several hours each day. During National Homeless Youth Awareness Month (November) and in the Spring, Luma NW provides a Pop-Up “store” for the youth with clothing, shoes, and a meal. Luma NW Auxiliary provides backpacks for the youth at these events.





Pass It On Program

Unusable items donated to the Thrift Shop are distributed to other nonprofits who then pass it on to in-need individuals and families.










Refugee and Immigrant Services Northwest


Refugee and Immigrant Services Northwest assists newly arrived immigrants in beginning their lives in Snohomish, Whatcom and Skagit Counties. RISNW provides many services including housing, employment, legal aid, English language classes and health care.  Luma NW supports the work of RISNW by providing new clothing and household goods for immigrant individuals and families .





Services to Veterans

To say "thank you" to those who have sacrificed in service to our country and in partnership with the Heroes Cafe in Lynnwood, Washington we are providing to homeless veterans backpacks filled with basic supplies such as a blanket, jacket, hat, gloves, hygiene products, food items, and a water bottle.  In addition, we are providing vouchers to be used for shopping at our Thrift Shop.
